I have been invited to paint a picture for the Florence Biennale 2023, which will be exhibited in the entrance area. The theme of the Biennale, taking place between October 14th and October 22nd, is “I AM YOU – individual and collective Identities in Contemporary Art”. The painting titled “Coming Out” aims to embody this theme in a playful manner. A dog breaks through the gray wall of indifference and conformity. In doing so, it transforms from an inconspicuous and colorless part of society, adapted to the gray everyday life behind the wall, into a colorful rainbow-colored dog, looking into the future with confidence and joy.
